I think all women should be required to have an ultrasound before they consider abortion.

cicatrici-belle:

I think, that might make them reconsider.

Then they can still choose, but they’ll know exactly what it is they’re about to brutally murder.

Then less people would CHOOSE abortion, or they can at least make a properly informed decision.

Ever pro-choicers can agree with this one, I mean I would suspect them of being pro abortion if not.

This post assumes that the pregnant person is not smart enough to make the decision on their own prior to the procedure. It also assumes that a lawmaker knows more about a pregnant persons healthcare than that person does. And by saying brutally murder you tip your hand as to the true nature of this ultrasound request. And you also state that “Then less people would CHOOSE abortion” and also show that the ultrasound is no more than an antichoice hoop to jump through to have a medical procedure done.

And I am proabortion, and propregnancy and proadoption. That is what being PROCHOICE means. But you would know nothing about that.

How can people call themselves ‘pro-life’ yet still eat meat and dairy!?

How can people be so stupid on both sides of this idiotic debate? Antichoicers like to strip pregnant people of their rights and reduce them to incubators. Ignorant vegans like to ignore privilege and the blindness it takes to not see how not everyone can be vegan. Now lets see how many spots on the crazy vegan and the antichoice bingo card I can get.

If I ever became pregnant I would have an abortion. Immediately. Without a second thought.

I do not ever want children. I do not ever want to be pregnant. If I became pregnant I would not hesitate to schedule an abortion the second I found out. If it means traveling over state lines or to another country I will be on the first thing smoking.

I do not ever want to be pregnant. EVER. Having an abortion should I ever decide to is my right. I would make the choice to end the pregnancy. I would not see the the fetus as a “potential cancer curer” or any of the other phrases antichoicers use, because at that moment the pregnancy would be a situation that I would have to take care of immediately.

A Fetus should not have personhood.

Abortion is not murder. All of the supposedly “prolife” rhetoric that you hear will gloss over certain things, but lets pull apart their logic. Let us assume for a second that the fetus is a person like antichoice individuals would have you believe.

If the fetus is a person then it must abide by the same statutes that other persons do. In that regard if other people cannot use a persons body against their will then neither can the fetus. That is what happens in an unwanted pregnancy. Because no one can deny that the fetus is using the body of the pregnant individual.

And then there is the argument that the pregnant individual must accept the consequences of having sex. With that logic you can say that an individual that drives a car must accept the consequence of getting into a car accident or someone that eats pork must accept lysteria as a consequence. But lets run with this.

If someone gets into a car accident and it is found to be the fault of Driver A and the resulting injuries require Driver B to need a new kidney or lung. Does Driver B then have the right to take one of the organs of Driver A?

NO.

You cannot demand the use of another persons organs or body because your circumstance of a result of an action or inaction that they took.
